There are many good-hearted area media people who have helped God get some glory around these parts in recent times, and it's about time you know a little bit about who they are, where they are, and what they've helped promote.

First up, there's Linda Pellegrino and her producer Lea Dicenso from WKBW, Channel 7 in Buffalo. Linda has been very supportive of Buffalo's Big Give with Anita Jones-Williams, and she's also had myself and Donna Russo on to talk about Kingdom Bound twice. Lea is willing to play Christian music videos from bands like Casting Crowns to end AM Buffalo on occasion. Channel 7 also had me on their morning newscast when Joanna Pasceri was anchoring, and she interviewed me 4 times over the course of an hour and a half where I shared about Kingdom Bound. She was so pleasant to meet and speak with both on-air and off.

Next, there's Neil Boron. This guy had two major shows on WDCX 99.5-FM in the 1980s and 1990s, but then he became a church pastor, and we didn't hear his voice on the radio for quite some time. But, now he's back and his show, Neil Boron Live, which airs afternoons on DCX, is very listenable. I often switch back and forth between Sandy Beach on WBEN 930 AM and Neil, because I like both of their shows. Sandy won't ever pray with people on-the-air though, while Neil does, and I love that about his show. Plus, he manages to have interesting guests on from both a local and national perspective. This is the first time in recent memory when WDCX ever gave any real notice to Buffalo-area Christian events, and I am glad to say we're in the process of working together right now to cross-promote a fantastic event involving music and a ballgame this July.

Also, there's Josh Maloni. He's a local newspaper writer/editor who is in love with Rebecca St. James, so much so that he managed to persuade Brian Yaiser of YMe? Ministry of Middleport to foot the bill to bring Rebecca to Artpark of all places for a successful Christian concert in a secular venue in Niagara County. Josh often writes about area bands like Relevant Worship and Tina Marie Williams, and his work is seen on wnypapers.com and in papers in Lewiston, Grand Island, and Wheatfield as part of Niagara Frontier Publications.

Don't forget the Buffalo News. Evonne Austin, who handles the GUSTO calendar, has been very supportive in including Christian events in there. Ditto for Katherine O'Day over at Artvoice. The Bee Group papers have also included Christian events in their papers as well.

You've got to like Kathy from Williamsville, the Saturday morning host on WBEN 930 AM-- she is not at all afraid to welcome me on to talk about Christian events on her popular show that lots of moms love listening to. Dave Debo, a newsman from the station, did a nice job covering Kingdom Bound. WBEN: good in my book.

There's a guy named Eli George who writes for BuffaloRising.com. He did an article about Buffalo's Big Give/Takin' It To The Streets. The people who read that site must hate Christians because it got a lot of negative reaction in its comments' section, but you've got to applaud the site for being open to the idea of including what's essentially a Christian event in its cadre of articles. Eli: you're alright!

Are there any other media people in the Buffalo area who don't mind promoting Christian events? Do you know any? Let me know: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
